A simplified version of Lemang cooked in a pot or clay pot, mimicking the texture and flavor of the traditional bamboo-cooked version but with easier preparation. It retains the essential coconut milk and glutinous rice base.

- Glutinous rice300g
- Coconut milk300ml
- Water150ml
- Salt1 tsp
- Banana leaves4 large
- Cooking pot or clay pot1

Wash the glutinous rice thoroughly and drain.

Soak the rice in water for at least 1 hour.

Drain the soaked rice.

Line a pot (preferably a clay pot for better heat distribution) with softened banana leaves, ensuring the leaves cover the bottom and sides.

Mix coconut milk, water, and salt.

Add the drained glutinous rice to the lined pot.

Pour the coconut milk mixture over the rice. Stir gently to combine.

Cover the pot with a lid or more banana leaves.

Cook over low to medium heat (or in a steamer) for about 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. The rice should absorb all the liquid and become tender.
