A creative variation of Pulut Panggang where a sweet, grated coconut and palm sugar filling is enclosed within the glutinous rice before being wrapped and steamed or grilled. This adds an extra layer of sweetness and texture.

- coconut milk1.5 cups
- sugar1/4 cup
- salt1/2 teaspoon
- grated coconut1 cup
- palm sugar (gula melaka)1/2 cup, chopped
- banana leaves12 pieces

Rinse and soak glutinous rice for 4 hours or overnight.

Drain rice and steam for 20 minutes.

Warm coconut milk with sugar and salt until dissolved. Pour over steamed rice, mix, and let rest for 20 minutes.

Prepare the filling: Cook grated coconut and palm sugar in a pan over medium heat until the sugar melts and the mixture is thick and sticky. Let it cool.

Prepare banana leaves by wiping and softening them.

Take a portion of the glutinous rice mixture, flatten it on a banana leaf, place a spoonful of filling in the center, and enclose it with the rice, forming a parcel.
