- Jasmine rice, cooked and cooled4 cups
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined200g
- Squid, cleaned and sliced150g
- Fish cakes, sliced100g
- Shallots, thinly sliced4
- Garlic, minced3 cloves
- Red chilies, finely chopped2
- Sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis)4 tbsp
- Shrimp paste (Terasi/Belacan)1 tsp
- Vegetable oil3 tbsp
- Eggs, fried sunny-side up4
- Cucumber, sliced1/2
- Tomato, sliced1
- Fried shallots, for garnish2 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Pound or blend shrimp paste until smooth.

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté shallots until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Add garlic and red chilies, stir-fry for another minute until aromatic.

Add the pounded shrimp paste and stir-fry until it darkens and becomes fragrant.

Add shrimp and squid, cook until they turn pink and are almost cooked through.

Add the cooked rice and fish cakes. Stir well to combine with the spice mixture.

Pour in the sweet soy sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir-fry until the rice is evenly coated and heated through, about 5-7 minutes.

Serve hot, topped with a fried egg and garnished with sliced cucumber, tomato, and fried shallots.
