- Chicken pieces (wings, drumettes)1.5 kg
- Cornstarch1 cup
- Salt1 tsp
- Black pepper1/2 tsp
- Vegetable oil for frying4 cups
- Soy sauce1/2 cup
- Honey or corn syrup1/4 cup
- Water2 tbsp
- Minced garlic4 cloves
- Butter2 tbsp
- Sesame seeds for garnish1 tbsp

Pat chicken pieces dry. Season with salt and pepper.

Toss chicken pieces generously with cornstarch until evenly coated.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or wok to 325°F (160°C). Fry chicken in batches for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and drain.

Increase oil temperature to 350°F (175°C). Re-fry chicken for another 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain well.

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).

Add soy sauce, honey (or corn syrup), and water to the saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
