- Rice vermicelli noodles (bún)1 lb

- Black pepper
- Fresh herbs (mint, cilantro)1 cup

Prepare the simplified broth: In a pot, combine pre-made mắm nêm sauce, minced garlic, chopped chili, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Cook rice vermicelli noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse.

Prepare garnishes: Slice cucumber thinly. Chop fresh herbs.
