- Fermented fish paste concentrate (mắm)150ml
- Pork shoulder, thinly sliced250g
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined150g
- Firm white fish fillets, cubed150g
- Lemongrass, finely chopped2 stalks
- Garlic, minced3 cloves
- Shallots, minced1
- Tomatoes, quartered1 medium
- Rice vermicelli noodles (bún)400g
- Water1.5 liters
- Saltto taste
- Sugarto taste
- Fish sauceto taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped1/4 cup
- Chili slicesto taste
- Lime wedges4

In a pot, sauté minced lemongrass, garlic, and shallots until fragrant.

Add the fermented fish paste concentrate and sauté for another minute.

Pour in 1.5 liters of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.

Add sliced pork, tomatoes, and cook for 5 minutes. Then add shrimp and fish cubes, cooking until just done.

Season the broth with salt, sugar, and fish sauce to taste.

Cook rice vermicelli noodles as per package instructions. Drain.

Ladle noodles into bowls, top with broth, meats, and vegetables. Garnish with cilantro and chili slices. Serve with lime wedges.
