- Shrimp1 lb, peeled and deveined
- Tamarind soup base3 tbsp
- Canned pineapple chunks1 cup
- Diced tomatoes1 cup
- Bean sprouts1 cup
- Fish sauce1 tbsp
- Sugar1 tsp
- Water6 cups
- Vegetable oil1 tsp
- Green onions2 tbsp, chopped
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.

Add water, tamarind soup base, diced tomatoes, and canned pineapple chunks to the pot. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Stir in fish sauce and sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add bean sprouts and the cooked shrimp back into the pot. Cook for 1 minute until sprouts are wilted.
