- Canned chickpeas2 cans (approx. 400g each), drained and rinsed
- Onion1 medium
- Garlic2 cloves
- Canned diced tomatoes400g
- Tomato paste1 tbsp
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Paprika (sweet)1 tsp
- Dried savory1/2 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water or vegetable broth200ml
- Red pepper flakespinch (optional)

Chop the onion and mince the garlic.

Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and paprika. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in the drained and rinsed chickpeas, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and dried savory. Mix well.

Pour in the water or vegetable broth. Bring to a simmer.

Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the stew to thicken slightly.
