Ingredients

  • Chickpeas (canned)2 cans (15 oz each)
  • Vegetable Oil1 tbsp
  • Onion, finely chopped1 medium
  • Garlic paste1 tsp
  • Ginger paste1 tsp
  • Crushed Tomatoes1 can (14.5 oz)
  • Chana Masala Spice Mix (store-bought)2 tbsp
  • Saltto taste
  • Water0.5 cup
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)2 tbsp

Steps

    Drain and rinse canned chickpeas.

    Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

    Add ginger paste and garlic paste, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

    Stir in the Chana Masala spice mix and cook for 30 seconds.

    Add crushed tomatoes and chickpeas. Stir well.

    Add water and salt. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
