Ingredients
- Chicken, cut into pieces1 kg
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Onions, sliced2 large
- Garlic, minced3 cloves
- Curry powder2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder1 tsp
- Apricot jam3 tbsp
- Chicken broth1.5 cups
- Raisins or sultanas1/2 cup
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Slivered almondsfor garnish
- Fresh parsley, choppedfor garnish

Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in curry powder and turmeric powder, cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken pieces and brown them lightly on all sides.

Stir in apricot jam and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.

Add raisins. Season with salt and black pepper.

Cover the pot, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
