- Golden syrup300g
- Breadcrumbs (fresh white)150g

Prepare the shortcrust pastry as per the Classic Treacle Tart recipe (Steps 1 & 2). Line a 20cm tart tin.

For the filling: Gently heat the golden syrup in a saucepan. Stir in the breadcrumbs, grated fresh ginger, lemon zest, and egg yolk until well combined.

Pour the ginger-infused treacle mixture into the pastry case.

Cover with a pastry lid or lattice, seal the edges, and bake at 190°C (170°C fan/Gas Mark 5) for 30-35 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
