Prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and crack in the egg. Gradually add water and mix until a firm, cohesive dough forms. Knead briefly on a floured surface until smooth.
- 2
Shape the noodles: Roll out the dough thinly (about 2-3 mm thick). Cut into small squares or rectangles, then roll each piece between your palms to form thick, irregular noodle shapes.
- 3
Cook the noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the shaped noodles and cook until they float to the surface and are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.

Prepare the apple and poppy seed mixture: Peel, core, and dice the apple. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced apple and sauté until slightly softened, about 5 minutes. Add the ground poppy seeds, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is fragrant.

Combine and serve: In a large bowl, toss the warm, drained noodles with the apple and poppy seed mixture until evenly coated. Serve immediately, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
