- Onion, chopped1/2 medium

- Diced tomatoes14.5 oz can
- Chicken broth4 cups
- Tomato paste1 tbsp
- Dried Italian seasoning1 tsp
- Small pasta (like ditalini or shells)1 cup
- Shredded mozzarella cheese1/2 cup
- Fresh parsley, choppedfor garnish

- Black pepperto taste

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, sauté the chopped onion until softened, about 4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

Stir in the cooked Italian sausage, diced tomatoes (undrained), chicken broth, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer.

Add the small pasta to the simmering broth. Cook according to pasta package directions, stirring occasionally, until tender.
