- Pre-cooked glutinous rice2 cups
- Waterfor steaming
- Pre-cooked shredded chicken1 cup
- Smoked sausage (like kielbasa)1/2 cup, sliced
- Shallots1, thinly sliced
- Fish sauce1 tbsp
- Sugar1/2 tsp
- Vegetable oil1 tbsp
- Fried shallots (store-bought)for garnish
- Green onionsfor garnish
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

If using pre-cooked glutinous rice, steam it for about 10-15 minutes to heat through. If using uncooked, follow soaking and steaming instructions from the traditional recipe.

Thinly slice the smoked sausage.

Heat vegetable oil in a small pan over medium heat. Fry the sliced shallots until golden brown and crispy. Remove shallots and set aside, leaving the oil in the pan.

Add the sliced smoked sausage to the same pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly browned.

In a small bowl, mix fish sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Add this mixture to the pan with the sausage and stir for 1 minute until the sauce slightly thickens.

To serve, place the steamed glutinous rice in a bowl. Top with pre-cooked shredded chicken, the sautéed sausage mixture, and fried shallots. Garnish with chopped green onions.
