- Pre-made Bánh Căn flour mix2 cups
- Coconut milk1 cup
- Water1 cup
- Salt1/2 tsp
- Scallions1/4 cup, chopped
- Shrimp1/4 lb, small, halved (optional)
- Vegetable oilfor greasing
- Nuoc cham (store-bought)for serving

In a bowl, combine the pre-made Bánh Căn flour mix, salt, coconut milk, and water. Whisk until smooth. Let rest for 10 minutes.

Chop the scallions. If using shrimp, halve them.

Heat a Bánh Căn mold over medium heat. Lightly grease each cavity.

Pour batter into each mold, about two-thirds full. Add a piece of shrimp (if using) and sprinkle with scallions.

Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden and cooked through.

Remove from the mold and serve immediately with store-bought nuoc cham.
