- Onion powder1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder1/2 teaspoon
- Fish sauce1 tablespoon
- Sugar1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil1 tablespoon
- Water1/2 cup
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Fresh dillfor garnish

Cut mackerel fillets into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.

Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sear the mackerel pieces until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add tomato paste, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in water, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir well to combine and bring to a simmer.

Return the seared mackerel to the sauce. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the fish is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
