- Pre-made caramel sauce (Nuoc Mau)3 tbsp
- Fish sauce3 tbsp
- Garlic powder1 tsp
- Black pepper1/2 tsp
- Water1/4 cup
- Chili flakes1/2 tsp
- Scallions1 stalk

Cut fish fillets into bite-sized pieces. Marinate with fish sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper for 10 minutes.

Heat a small clay pot or a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add the pre-made caramel sauce and stir until slightly melted.

Add the marinated fish pieces and gently stir to coat.

Pour in the water and add chili flakes. Bring to a simmer.
