- Fish sauce3 tbsp
- Sugar1.5 tbsp
- Water1/4 cup
- Garlic2 cloves, minced
- Ground black pepper1 tsp
- Cooking oil1 tbsp
- Scallions1, chopped for garnish
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Cut basa into bite-sized pieces. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Mix fish sauce, sugar, water, and ground black pepper in a bowl.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.

Add basa pieces and sear for 1-2 minutes per side.

Pour the sauce mixture over the fish. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.

Simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the fish is cooked and the sauce has reduced to a glaze.
