Slice beef thinly against the grain. Slice mushrooms and finely chop onion and garlic.

Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown beef in batches, then remove and set aside.

Add onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
