- Milk900ml
- Orange zest2 tbsp
- Orange juice50ml
- Vanilla extract1 tsp
- Butter50g
- Salt1 tsp

Prepare the macaroni as in the traditional recipe: combine flour and salt, add water to form a firm dough, knead, roll out, and cut into small strips. Let them dry slightly.

Boil the macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain well.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract.

Gradually whisk in the milk until well combined.

Grease a baking dish with butter. Add the drained macaroni and pour the egg-milk-orange mixture over it.

Dot the top with small pieces of butter.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 50-65 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.

Allow to cool before serving. Garnish with candied orange peel if desired.
