- Tamarind paste2 tbsp
- Palm sugar1 tbsp
- Kaffir lime leaves2-3

- Vegetable oil4 tbsp
- Water75 ml

Soak dried chilies in hot water until softened, then drain. Blend chilies, shallots, garlic, candlenuts, and belacan into a fine paste.

Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Fry the paste until fragrant and the oil separates, about 8-10 minutes.

Add tamarind paste, palm sugar, salt, and water. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the shrimp and kaffir lime leaves. Cook, stirring, until the shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 4-6 minutes.
